When it comes to Apple rumors, things change fast the closer we get to alleged announcement dates.  Next week’s 2012 World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) has fired up the usual suspects, who are positively humming with speculations leading up to the event.  Some of the chatter is absurd, but some of it could have a sound base in reality.  One of the revived rumors suggests Apple may be preparing to announce a new iPhone with a 4” Retina display and HD camera.  If it turns out to be true, we still might not see the new iPhone until September.

Is Apple really that big of a company? The short answer is yes. Here are a few reasons why.

Apple's total sales in 2011 were around 128 billion dollars! That's more than the combined GDP of over 60 nations! Some of the countries included in that list are Cuba, New Zealand and Iraq! Those numbers are staggering.

Apple is the largest tradable company in the stock market. Beating out companies such as Exxon, Microsoft and even Wal-Mart. Apple sells more than 694 Ipads a minute. That's 11 Ipads a second! One of the most impressive statistics would be the amount of IPhones sold. Over 74 million Iphones were sold in 2011. That's almost equal to the total weight of the Eiffel Tower!

From computers to phones, Apple is a technology powerhouse. It doesn't seem to be slowing down any time soon. These numbers can only continue in the years to come.

Nokia has been promising to deliver the next generation of smartphones for the past half a year now, and at MWC, they finally demonstrated that they weren’t kidding. While their selection of smartphones is nowhere near as big as their competitors’, the company seems to be going for quality rather than quantity, and their newly announced handset clearly shows that: the Nokia 808 PureView is simply the best camera phone to be released on the market to date.

The end of the year brings with it reflection and 2011 was certainly a big year in business innovation.
